Laser Cut Sample

First Design: Attempt #2 (Final Attempt)

This design came out quite nicely! The contrast with each minor design-piece is high, and there seems to be an illusion of continuation going on in the middle of the design. When you swipe your finger along the design, you can tell that the depth is nice and creates a satisfying texture.

Experimental Stacking of the Two Designs

Angle View

First Design: Attempt #1

This design didn't come out as pleasant as expected. The contrast is low on the outside, but as you trail your eyes inside, the contrast becomes greater. The flowers on the borders aren't noticeable which is disappointing.

Second Design: Attempt #1

The contrast isn't too high but the dark areas and the extremely light areas did come out very nicely. The edges of the petals of the four flowers look very delicate and intricate. Same goes for the small circles.

Rhino Design

Honestly, for this design, I was quite scared to finalize it for laser cutting. There were some parts that weren't hatched in nor outlined by a cut line, so I thought that the digital instructions for this design was too vague. But when I finally reached the laser cutting date, I was told that those parts were going to be simply untouched by the laser. I was relieved when I heard that.
Then, when the time came to finally laser cut everything, I handed the file to the technician and they got everything ready for the cutting. The first attempt did not come out too great. The values were very similar with each other and the contrast wasn't too strong. So, having a bit more time within my laser appointment, I decided to change the values in Rhino and laser cut one more design. This time this design came out very nicely. Nice contrast, and overall, nice to look at.
