A Trophy For Incompetence

In-class Feedback:

The feedback that I collected during our in-class, peer critique session was extremely helpful in this case. I was speaking with one of my classmates and we both decided that we favored the simplistic 3D trophy rather than the other designs that were presented. They chose this one because it was simplistic but had an interesting message, and discussed that I could add more details to it to make it look even more interesting. I agreed with his suggestions and I ran along with them. I really do like how it ended up. The jagged spikes on the trophy frame that reaches the sky really give off a threatening feel. Same with the horns on the virus itself, very threatening, though, aesthetically pleasing haha.
There were other suggestions as well. I did listen and appreciate them, but I really liked the starting point for the trophy and so I went with it. In all honesty, most of my critiques just ended up with me and my peer agreeing to add more things onto the 3D object itself. This was the easiest one to add things on :)))))

How does this relate to Remix Culture?

This 3D object design relates to Remix Culture as it plays on the current status of our world. Currently, and for a long time, we have been experiencing a pandemic that is shaking the very roots of our lifestyle, etc... Usually, during times of disease, people are encouraged to get vaccines! Though, some people don't really want to take that encouragement. So, I decided to play upon that and create a little mashup award for those who don't choose to get one :)
The message itself is a juxtaposition. Normally, awards are cool and given to people who have done something great with their lives. BUT! This award does not recognize good merit. As an added bonus, this award shines so brightly that any passersby can notice it. They can then take into account the individual who possesses it and, stay 2 meters or more away from them :)

Ps. I didn't solidify the top the trophy (i.e. the hands, virus, frame and etc) because if I solidify it, it loses its details. I'll probably ask about it in class. Soooo, be prepared for that :))))
